Theme in Green
Here is an idea by footiam for an Everything Green day.
Here is a scene in Green, NOT taken with digital camera, of a scene near where I live. Green themes inspire feelings of peace and tranquility. Isn’t “Tranquility” a lovely word…It’s self describing…
Getting back to music now, I am reminded of a guitar duet by Simon Dinnigan called “The Valley”. It is a beautiful evocation of the Derbyshire Dales, near where he lives. The broad arpeggios in the backing is descriptive of the rolling landscape, the expansivness of the countryside, and the sweet melody captures very well the greenery which dominates the area.
Music and pictures..A great combination

Your picture is so beautiful! Thanks! I have been wanting to link your story on the guitarist to my blog at http://impermanentworld for a long time and i am getting to it today. Someone just commented that the guitarist has a big ego. What do you think?
Thanks for your comment on my picture!
Regarding the guitaristin question, Barrios, your reader is probably judging the remark out of context. Taken out of context, it could look that way. BUT, at that time in history, there was not too many virtuoso guitarists who were capable of playing in that style.
Also, besr in mind, Barrios was inpractical in business matters. He died virtually pennyless, forgotten by many, in a poor country, yet today his music is much loved by guitarists. That was the point I was making, and it’s important to keep the context in mind.
Another player who was indeed virtuoso, Segovia, had his own reasons for shunning Barrios music, which I will talk about perhaps in a later post.
I want to go to the tranquility of that place,
where nature is patience. What a lovely picture and tranquility is such a nice word that I once wrote a poem on it.
Thanks Rose, the scene is actually very close to where I live
I’d like to read your poem
Take care.
Mark,
Well said! There’s no question that music is a realm all its own. And when combined with a lovely landscape, it carries even greater power to transport us far beyond the mundane.
Wanted to say “thanks” for adding Writer’s Notes to your blogroll!
Regards,
Jeanne
You’re welcome Jeanne
