Arabian Dance by Sabicas

Here is a guitar video offering, from the legendary Flamenco guitarist Sabicas, playing his Arabian Dance. I can only marvel at his techniques…I love Arabian music, full of the spices of the east, great improvising music. If anyone knows where the score to this piece is available, please let me know.

Nice! Wish I can play like that!
Hey Mark,
Really nice. His music is so good. I envy him now. Wish I’d learn to play a guitar
Thanks for listening Footiam! I take the same view as yourself!
Meghna, thanks for your visit also, you are very welcome. I’m sure you could play the guitar if you wanted, with a little practice
Ok, here’s what I’ve found out, which I am sure is the same as you and everyone else has found out, not much! I know his given name was Agustin Castellon Campos, But as far as an artist and his music is concerned, he is way down on the totem pole in the guistarists niche on the net. This might be because the musical powers that be considered him a flamenco artist only and not a classical guitarist ( I think he was a bit of both?). A friend of his, Juan de la Mata, started transcribing some of his music, but it’s hard to tell whether the piece you are looking for are in the books he’s hawking without buying the whole 40 dollar book….evil eh? Anyway, I will continue searching, but in the meantime, if he’s still living why don’t you hunt up Mr. De la Mata and ask him? You’re closer to Spain than I am!
Your American Fan Club President,
Kathy
Wow where did you get all that lot from Kathy…I get the impression you’ve been doing plenty of searching
All I know is, if he’s well down the list of guitarists on the net, I’m much further down still!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting anyway
