According to a poll by Tiller Forty-nine percent of all American adults say they will make a green New Year’s resolution this year.
Given a list of environmental lifestyle changes, reducing household energy usage was cited as the most likely to be undertaken in 2008, cited by 75 percent of respondents. It was followed by recycling more (74 %) and reducing the use of harmful household chemicals (66%). Carrying fabric bags to the supermarket (42%) and reducing one’s “carbon footprint” (43%) were the least frequently cited.
The survey found that younger respondents were generally more focused on the environment than older Americans.

Well, it seems the young are more concerned, generally, by global warming than the older people. As well they might, being as though their children might well grow up to a vastly different planet than the one we have been accustomed to. It’s good to see that, despite goverment lethargy, the will of the people might precipitate a change in attitude towards climate change.
Here is latest trailer to the next installment of Resident Evil…
One of the all time great computer game series, Metal Gear Solid features the character Solid Snake, who is entrusted to infilltrate enemy buildings, on a mission of sabotage. Who can forget the original Metal Gear mission set in a small island off Alaska..The spooky settings, stealth taken to new dimensions, the boss battles including an awesome duel with a helicopter on the roof, and the terryfing Shayman with the huge machine gun..And most of all for me, the music.
The score is haunting throughout, but nowhere better than the closng video sequence. I don’t have the original game ending, but here is a video of the third game instalment, in the jungle, using the same music. The song itself, translated into English is by Tappy, “The Best is Yet to Come”. But here it’s sung in Gaelic, like a whimsical Irish folk song, with Japanese accentuation in parts.
I’ve been a great fan of this classic football simulation ever since it debuted on the SNES 12 years ago. The latest offering, Pro Evo 2008, is now available, the series making it’s PS3 debut, boasting “teamvision”, a computer smart reaction to changing tactics during matches, a hugely enhanced Master league, more player animations than ever…
and more teams and options than you can shake a leg at. Here is a video of some goals I scored from the last offering, Pro Evo 6. When you have player moves such as these, who cares about liscences…

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has opened high-level talks at the climate change conference in Bali with a call to action.
He said that if no action was taken, the world would face impacts such as drought, famine and rising sea levels.
Delegates are hoping to agree a “Bali roadmap” leading to further cuts in greenhouse gas emissions when the Kyoto Protocol targets expire in 2012.
The US and Canada are among countries opposed to further binding targets.
So, it appears once again, the American Goverment has it’s head buried in sand.
